Who should attend?

Teachers and SENCOs interested in developing their observation practice to help support students with SEN.

Over the course of the day we will be looking at a range of observation strategies and tools for identifying and supporting active engagement, social communication and emotional regulation. The day will have an autism focus but will be suitable for supporting all students with a SEN.

‘Understanding autism’

Using observational tools to identify best practice and implement support strategies

This will be a practical workshop which will introduce the observational frameworks and give opportunities to explore their use.

Overview of lesson study, importance of collaborative working

Intro to lesson study set up – triads of teachers – the process, feedback, planning lessons

Opportunity to action plan – think about students/teachers you could use these tools with.
