Mentoring Trainee Teachers

Wednesday 17th June 2020 4.15pm – 5.15pm

Dame Alice Owen’s School

This session is aimed at all ITT mentors and teachers who are looking to become mentors in the near future. We will look at the mentor standards, how to conduct effective mentor meetings, move from a ‘mentoring’ role to a ‘coaching’ role over the course of a placement, and finally how to develop and maintain positive mentor-trainee relationships. We will also look at how to manage difficult conversations with underperforming trainees.
