About the Department: 

  • 87% students achieving 9 to 4 grades in English Language in 2017
  • 94.6% students achieving 9 to 4 in English Literature, 40% achieving 9-7
  • At KS3 we aim for students to have a full curriculum of texts from different eras and different cultures
  • We aim to set students a multitude of tasks to engage and empower them with skills they need to thrive as independent learners
  • Beyond English, great success at A Level is given to Film Students, which has led to equally successful GCSEs
