Executive Assistant Commencing September 2017

Dame Alice Owen‟s School is a truly „outstanding‟ (Ofsted) 11-18 co-educational school with an enviable reputation for adding value to its part-selective, part-mixed intake. Well resourced and well staffed, in no small part due to the relationship we have with the Worshipful Company of Brewers, in 2016 the school achieved 82% A level entries graded A*- B, 14 Oxbridge places and 97% GCSEs 5 A* to Cs.

Based in its own generous grounds in the Hertfordshire countryside, close to Potters Bar station and served by numerous school buses, we have state-of-the-art Music and Drama, Science and Arts blocks, extensive playing fields and a highly motivated staff and student cohort. The shared sense of purpose and ethos inspire both pupils and staff to be the very best they can be.

About the role

The Headteacher is looking for a creative, reliable Executive Assistant with a passion for improving outcomes for young people and an attention to detail which is second to none! The successful candidate will lead our busy administration department and work closely with our Governing Body and Trustee. This will be a busy and varied role but above all else this position requires someone the Headteacher can trust implicitly; a strategic and proactive professional who is prepared to work with the Headteacher in what will inevitably be a close professional relationship. The EA will need to multi-task, plan ahead and keep a firm handle on the day to day activities as well as the annual rhythm of the school calendar. Being able to meet deadlines with high quality work and to stay one step ahead of the Headteacher is a prerequisite.

Dame Alice Owen‟s School can offer the successful candidate:

 An outstanding experience working with a dedicated Senior Leadership Team, Governing Body and Trustees.

 A friendly and supportive environment where staff are encouraged and aided to continue developing and expanding their skills sets.

 The chance to work with exceptionally committed colleagues who have high expectations of students and staff.

Dame Alice Owen‟ School is a partially selective school which is heavily oversubscribed. We were awarded the title of State Secondary School of the Year 2017 by the Sunday Times. 95% of our students achieved 5A*C grades last year with 55% of our A level exams being graded A*-A during this same period.

Ofsted Inspection January 2009: 'Teaching is outstanding; there is a strong sense of purpose, unity, hard work and satisfying challenge that pervades all levels of school leadership, teaching and support staff. The 6th Form is just as outstanding as the main school.

If you are excited at the prospect of a hugely varied job where you have real responsibility and can make a positive impact each day, we would love to receive your application.
